Dreamy Week at PGA Catalunya Golf & Wellness

I spent one week in the Number 1 Golf Resort in Spain.

When September is getting cold in France, I always travel to Spain to make content and discover new places ! Now this is time to see the number one Golf resort in Spain which is also a European Tour Destination.

The Courses

The Stadium course has been ranked Nº 1 golf course in Spain for 7 consecutive years.

This Course (picture above) at PGA Catalunya Golf and Wellness is a challenging experience that blends stunning golfing with mesmerizing surroundings for perhaps the ultimate way to enjoy your favorite sport.

The Stadium Course and the Tour Course are both par-72 woodland layouts designed by Angel Gallardo and Neil Coles (ex Ryder Cup superstar). The Stadium opened in 1999 and hosted the Spanish Open on the European Tour in 2000, 2009 and 2014. It has a spectacular beauty and is regularly voted the best golf course in Spain.

The Tour Course is easier than its sibling, but just as beautiful. Dominated by pine trees and lakes, this course is also shorter, yet its clever design ensures it remains a challenge for every level of player. Most of the holes feature wide fairways, strategic bunkers and water hazards. This course co-hosted the European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage between 2008-16.

Golf Hub & Academy

I had an amazing experience with Enric at the Golf Hub at PGA Catalunya.

Finally able to analyze my swing correctly and make the appropriate changes.

This is the most advanced swing analysis technology combined with the same ball-tracking system used by professionals.

PGA Catalunya Golf Academy is perhaps the premiere golf academy in Spain. With a selection of golf professionals on hand as instructors, there are individual and group lessons and the academy also includes the acclaimed Sergio García Golf Academy for juniors.

Huge Thanks to Enric for his time

Five-Star Hotel Camiral

Located about 15 minutes from Girona airport by car. This resort is 30 minutes away from the Costa Brava’s beaches and medieval villages and Barcelona is just under two hours.

The hotel’s 145 beautifully designed rooms and suites are comfortable, luxurious and tastefully elegant. The best part is that all rooms enjoy fabulous views of the gardens, golf courses and the large swimming-pool.

The original hotel was completely redesigned a few years ago by star Catalan architect and interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan and the result feels amazing.

The staff speak fluent English and are extremely friendly and helpful.

There’s also a gym and a small spa with sauna (see below).

Wellness Center

Recovery time at this amazing wellness facilities, I was able to try everything and I can tell you, it really works !

This Wellness Center is a holistic approach that leaves golfers with long-lasting benefits for the mind, body and soul. There’s sports recovery treatments using state-of-the-art technology, including Cryotherapy and Oxygen Chamber Therapy, and all kinds of beauty, aromatherapy, and mind and body treatments.

Conclusion

I had a blast staying at PGA Catalunya Golf and Wellness.

Amazing experience at the hotel. Fantastic golf courses, practice amenities, restaurants and activities proposed.

A lovely Golf resort with luxury touches throughout.
